In 1976 the Joy Club was organized at New Armuchee Baptist Church (NABC). The Joy Club stands for “Just Older Youth.” This organization is open for membership to those who consider themselves of the "golden age,” 55 years or older. There are now over 80 active members. The Joy Club meets once a month on the second Monday, in the Christian Life Center (CLC) at NABC. The Joy Club is under the direction of a director, two associates, a Senior Adult Minister and officers who plan the meetings, activities, programs, and trips.
Our purposes are to further knowledge of God, uphold Christian standards, and provide fellowship with each other. We accomplish these goals through inspirational and educational programs, mission projects, trips, volunteering at church and in the community, and doing special projects for all ages. Some of our trips include touring Historical Milledgeville, Georgia, the Biltmore House in Ashville, the Billy Graham Museum in NC, Senior Retreats, Mystery Trips, and fun trips. We also help with youth, shut-ins, and those in need. If you are not presently a member, we invite you to join the "Just Older Youth" at NABC!
O' Yes Choir
The O’ Yes choir is comprised of senior adults who “just like to get together once a week and sing!” Anyone is invited to participate. People from other churches are usually involved. They meet in the choir room every Wednesday morning at 10:30 and they sing until 11:30, with a short break in the middle. The music is usually older music, such as hymns or gospel choruses led by Mac Eubanks. They will sing at special events 4-5 times per year, including a Christmas performance at Berry College in December. All events are usually from 10:30-11:30 so that participants don’t have to change their schedules. The O’ Yes Choir is always open to new members. Bring a friend!
